most homes are demo'd from the basement 24" above first floor
I arrived here about noon and went to the courthouse to find out where I go to work. First of all, I was shown where I could get a sandwhich and I followed Bernadette to the job site. Interestingly, Franklin Grahmn’s Samaritan’s Purse is here on the same lot with the Operation Blessing folks working along side each other! They are sharing resources! Listen church!
There are 75 homes that need to be demo’d from the first floor up 24.” The basements are full of mud about 6″ deep and water on top of that. The house I was working on was demo’d first floor up 24″ and all of the flooring, cabinettes, water heater and furnance was removed. Pics to come soon. But that pretty much is the schedual, to sling mud and tear out water soaked stuff. The famiy had already remove personal items, Their stuff and a good part of their house is piled on the street for a front end loader to come along and scoop up thousands of cubic yards of trash. This is the first call to clean up. No rebuilding is happening at this time. First things first!
